Nursery/Pre-school/Kindergarten Helper

Overall Ministry Description and How It Relates to Hope’s Mission Statement: To provide a safe, caring, fun environment for children ages newborn to kindergarten and to teach them on an age appropriate level the truths of God’s Word and how it relates to them, so that they develop a foundation for a passion for God, to live in community, to follow His Word & Spirit, and touch the lives of others.

Ministry Position Summary: To provide a safe, caring, fun environment for children, ages newborn to kindergarten, taking opportunities to help them learn about God and His Word; and to assist the teacher as needed

Spiritual Gifts, Talents & Skills: 

Is comfortable working with children in this age group, nurturing spirit, gift of helps

Anybody that desires this position must be a regular attender for at least 6 mos.

All children’s ministry volunteers must agree to allow a background check

Reporting Structure: Reports to Children’s Ministry Personnel Coordinator) and the teacher; works with other helpers in the classroom

Current Status: 4 serving/ 2-4 more people needed

Time Commitment: Serves approximately once every 4 weeks; serve for 45 minutes on Sunday mornings during the message

General Ministry Responsibilities:

Make sure all children are safe and cared for. Maintain comfortable level of safety at all times

Assist the teacher as needed

Interact with the children, helping them engage in group activities, help them focus on the teacher during lesson and craft time

Pursue opportunities to pray with or over each child in your care

As class concludes, help children begin putting away toys and straightening the classroom
