Elementary Teacher (1^st – 5^th grade)

Overall Ministry Description and How it Relates to Hope’s Mission Statement: The purpose of Children’s Ministry is to teach God’s Word in an applicable way, minister to the children so that they will be spiritually and emotionally healthy through the power of Jesus Christ, and equip them to be active members of His Kingdom on earth.

Ministry Position Summary: The responsibility of the teacher is to teach the lesson and to pray with the children on Sunday morning

Spiritual Gifts, Talents & Skills:

• Enjoys and is gifted in working with children;  Has some creativity in lesson preparation; Is able to modify lesson to meet classroom needs.
• Anybody that desires this position must be a regular attender of Hope for at least 6 mos. Every person will also need to go through an interview process to determine if the person's gifts, talents and callings are compatible with this ministry's position
• All children’s ministry volunteers must agree to allow a background check

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Children's Ministry Personnel Coordinator; Helpers report to the teacher          

Time commitment: Serves on a rotating basis (4 times a quarter); approximately 1-2 hours to prepare and 45 minutes to teach on Sunday during the message

General Ministry Responsibilities:

• To receive the lesson outline from the Children’s Ministry Curriculum Coordinator
• To make necessary preparations for the lesson
• To set-up the classroom before the worship service
• To teach the lesson on Sunday morning
• To pray with the children
