This may go on record as the coldest picnic/baptism in the history of Hope Church!  But we enjoyed the service (thankfully most, if not all, brought jackets and/or blankets), and most of all, we enjoyed hearing so many of our youth share of their faith in Christ and watch them get baptized.  What a blessing for all!

 We watched the weather reports all week and prayed about expected storms.  We pushed the service forward to 10:30 am hoping to miss the rain.  2 of the 3 people scheduled for baptism had to back out due to an unexpected appendectomy.  We set up under the pavilion and experienced a torrential downpour during opening worship.  We listened to Seth tell about his missionary trip to Italy, and Tony share about his 3 week trip to India.  Wayne shared the gospel message, and as he talked, the skies cleared, the sun came through, the temperatures rose, and we were able to walk down to the beach for the baptism.  We ended the day with a wonderful picnic lunch in the warm sunshine.  God is good!  And His people experienced His goodness today.
