Summary

Have you ever had a boss who was temperamental and unreasonable—someone who made unrealistic demands and made all sorts of threats if you didn’t do whatever he asked? I think Nebuchadnezzar was one such individual. After all, you don’t become king of the most overpowering, intimidating military force of your time by being a soft-hearted pansy! He significantly expanded the dominion of his kingdom by force. And from the stories we read in Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar was egotistical and perhaps quick-tempered. He viewed his subjects as expendable, freely giving the orders of execution if they did not meet his demands. This makes the story of Daniel all the more impressive. So what can we learn from his story and how he responded to Nebuchadnezzar? What can we also learn about his relationship with God amidst extremely challenging circumstances? Join us as we continue our series, “Living for God in a Godless Culture," a study of the book of Daniel!
